Mound System - specially selected sand is placed on top of the natural soil to help treat and dispose of septic tank effluent. The septic tank effluent is delivered to the mound with a pump in a dosing tank placed after the septic tank.
Distribution Box ("D-Box") is also watertight and is made of precast concrete or other approved material. The Soil Absorption System ("Leaching Field") accepts the effluent flow from the D-Box and provides further treatment of the clarified effluent by means of microbiological treatment.
